“Eyes that See, Ears that Listen”

Reflection on Matthew 13:12-23

 "To the one who has, more will be given... to the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away."

I used to think this was unfair — a verse sharpened by scarcity.
But then I started listening… not to the noise, but to the spaces between.

What if it’s not about possession — but posture?
What if “having” is simply… being willing?

Willing to stay curious,
to keep seeking even when the map goes blank,
to ask the same question a thousand different ways.

Maybe that’s where God pours more — not into the hands full of answers,
but into the soul that keeps showing up
empty, but open.

And as for the one who has nothing left?
Maybe what’s taken
was never meant to stay —
... just weight too heavy for the journey ahead.
