A bus full of very unattractive people was driving down a winding road when it suddenly had a head-on collision with a truck. Tragically, everyone on the bus died instantly.
When their souls arrived in heaven, God was there to greet them. Out of compassion, He said:
“You poor souls have suffered enough in life. I’ll grant each of you one wish before entering eternity.”
The first person in line thought for a moment, then smiled and said:
“Lord, I’ve been ugly all my life. My one wish is to finally be gorgeous.”
God snapped His fingers, and instantly, that person transformed into a breathtaking model.
The second person, inspired, quickly said:
“Me too, God! Make me beautiful!”
Snap! Done.
This went on and on down the line. Each person asked for the same thing—to be stunningly attractive—and with every snap of God’s fingers, another plain soul became radiant.
By the time God was halfway through the group, everyone looked like they had just stepped off the cover of a fashion magazine. But there was one man at the very back of the line who couldn’t stop laughing.
At first, people ignored him. But as the wishes continued, he started chuckling louder. By the time there were only ten people left, he was rolling on the heavenly floor, clutching his stomach, tears streaming down his face.
Finally, it was his turn. God looked at him curiously and said:
“Son, why have you been laughing this whole time? What is your wish?”
The man could barely contain himself. He wiped the tears from his eyes, pointed at the entire newly gorgeous crowd, and said between fits of laughter:
“My wish… is that they’re all ugly again!”
And with one snap… balance was restored.
