A Reflection on Letting Go Too Soon
Have you ever had to choose between what might be and what you can already see?
Faith is believing when there's no curtain to pull--when the dream is still invisible, the reward is still uncertain, and all you have is a quiet inner voice saying: hold on
On the game show Let's make a deal, a contestant stood at the crossroads of belief and doubt. He held a small box, uncertain of its content, while the host tempted him with increasing offer, first cash, then a lavish living room set. At the heart of it was a big deal--a brand new car possibly hidden in the box.
He refused to let go... until the curtain was pulled back.
There it was. A stunning, tangible, $4,000+ living room set. It was right in front of him--touchable, visible, real. He quickly abandoned the mystery box, sat down on the couch, and took the deal.
Then the host opened the box.
Inside it... was the key to the box.
The big deal. The very thing he hoped for.
We All Have Box in Our Hands
That player didn't just lose a car.
He lost to something deeper: the pull of sight over the promise of faith.
He started with hope. He resisted the temptation of money. He stood his ground. But when what was visible seemed good enough, he traded his dream for comfort.
We all do this.
We let go of things too early--
A calling that feels too slow.
A relationship that requires work.
A dream that hasn't taken shape yet.
A prayer that hasn't been answered.
And we settled. For what's in front of us.
Because at least we can see it.
Where Does Faith Come In?
"We live by faith, not by sight." -- 2 Corinthians 5:7
Faith is never about guarantees. It's about conviction without confirmation.
It's trusting the invisible, more than the immediate.
True faith holds on -- even when the curtain is closed.
Even when the "living room set" of life is offered in exchange.
Even when the dream feels dormant - and doubt whispers, "take what you can now."
A Gentle Reminder
Friend, if you're holding a small box right now--
A fragile hope.
A promise from God.
A dream no else understands...
Don't be too quick to trade it,
Don't be too quick to sit down on someone else's version of comfort.
the big deal might still be in your hands.
And only faith can see it through.
